Non-volatile memory vendor Fujitsu Semiconductor Memory Solution Ltd. has announced it is changing its name to Ramxeed Ltd. with effect from January 1, 2025.

There will be no changes to its postal address and phone numbers but the company did not disclose whether there has been or will be any change in ownership.

The company was formed as a spin-off from Fujitsu Semiconductor in March 2020 to continue the sale of ferroelectric RAM and resistive RAM products. The company said it continues to work on the development of non-volatile memory based on carbon nanotube material. Fujitsu licensed this technology from US company Nantero Inc. in 2016.

Fujitsu’s semiconductor division began mass production of FeRAM in 1999 and the technology is used in such applications as IC cards, RFID tags, power meters, and industrial machinery. The company has started mass production of ReRAM, which requires less power when reading data and is suitable for wearable devices.
