Gallium Semi opens Philippines manufacturing facility

Startup RF power transistor company Gallium Semiconductor Singapore Pte. Ltd., has opened its manufacturing facility in Laguna, Philippines.

The inauguration was held on February 3, 2023 and was led by Henk Thoonen, vice president of global operations of Gallium Semi, and Kin Tan, former CEO and now an advisor to the company.

Gallium Semi recently appointed Rohan Houlden as CEO. Houlden has 30 years of experience in RF semiconductors having served previously as Chief Product Officer at Akoustis Technologies. Prior to working for Akoustis, Houlden served as general manager of the connectivity business unit at Qorvo.

Gallium’s production line supports the production of RF power transistors which the company supplies in DFN, QFN, ACC, and ACP packages for 5G communications, aerospace and defense, and multimarket applications.

Gallium Semi was founded in 2020 and now has operations in Singapore; Nijmegen, The Netherlands; Toulouse, France; Shanghai, China; and the Philippines.
