Intel’s 18A manufacturing node, named for 18 angstroms, is ready for customer projects, the beleaguered chip giant has said, giving the node its own website.
The process includes ‘RibbonFET’ gate-all-around semiconductor channels and ‘PowerVia’ backside delivery of power to improve density and performance. Tape-outs are expected to start occurring in the 1H25.
Intel 18A provides 15 percent better performance per watt and 30 percent better chip density compared with the Intel 3 process node, the company states.
