Sehat Sutardja joins board of MEMS timing startup Stathera
Sehat Sutardja has joined the board of directors of MEMS timing startup Stathera Inc. (Montreal, Canada) with immediate effect.
Sutardja is the co-founder and former-CEO of Marvell Technology and is a co-founder of advanched packaging chip manufacturer Silicon Box Pvt. Ltd. (see Silicon Box to build €3.2 billion Italian chiplet factory).
Stathera has been founded to benefit from the move from quartz-based timing to MEMS-based timing. The company makes use of MEMS made for it by fabless MEMS company Nxtsens Microsystems.
The company includes MediaTek and Seiko Epson amongst its investors (see MediaTek, Seiko Epson back MEMS timing startup Stathera).
“Dr. Sutardja’s vast experience building and scaling semiconductor companies brings invaluable insights to our journey. With his guidance, Stathera will accelerate the commercialization of its breakthrough DualMode silicon timing technology and establish itself as a frontrunner in the $9.8 billion timing market,” said George Xereas, co-founder and CEO of Stathera, in a statement.
“Stathera’s proprietary MEMS timing technology is poised to re-architect the entire $9.8 billion electronics timing industry,” said Sutardja, in the same statement.
