Raspberry Pi has designed a System-in-Package (SIP) which integrates the BCM2710A1 die used in the launch variant of Raspberry Pi 3 with 512MB of LPDDR2 SDRAM to reduce power consumption..
The RP3A0 SIP is used for the first time in the Zero 2W single board computer.
The board provides a 1GHz quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 CPU, VideoCore IV GPU, 512MB LPDDR2 DRAM, micro-USB power, HAT-compatible 40-pin header, composite video and reset pins via solder test points, and a CSI camera connector.
Connectivity on the board includes 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.2 / Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), MicroSD card slot, Mini HDMI and USB 2.0 OTG ports.
The board, now shipping from Farnell in Europe, is suitable for building embedded Internet of Things (IoT) projects and wireless networking applications and can also be used as a general-purpose computer. Its predecessor, the Raspberry Pi Zero W, has been used in a wide range of applications from miniature arcade cabinets to electric skateboards.
The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is accompanied by a range of accessories including a 5VDC power supply, an official case, 1, HDMI cable, male/female HDMI adapter, 10cm HDMI cable, OTG adapter and 1m USB cable.
