Ceva, ProteanTecs partner to offer monitoring of SoCs
ProteanTecs Ltd. (Haifa, Israel), the startup that embeds software agents on chips to monitor performance, has formed a partnership with IP licensor Ceva Inc. (Rockville, Maryland).
The two companies have agreed to include proteanTec’s performance analytics within Ceva’s IP platforms, with a view to increased penetration of the automotive, communications and defense sectors.
The two companies are already working together as mutual suppliers to some clients, proteanTecs said giving the example of Autotalks, a supplier of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications technologies (see Qualcomm swallows V2X rival Autotalks). Autotalks has deployed vector and scalar DSP IP from Ceva, together with proteanTecs’ predictive monitoring solutions, in chipsets.
As part of their ongoing partnership, proteanTecs will be able to work with Ceva for the development of custom SoC solutions that target the aerospace and defense sectors.
“ProteanTecs’ novel technology is able to monitor and extend the lifespan, power profile and performance of Ceva-powered chips,” said Michael Boukaya, COO at CEVA, in a statement issued by ProteanTecs.
“With Ceva’s DSPs and proteanTecs in-depth data, we are able to concurrently support DSRC and C-V2X technologies with the needed visibility to assure rigorous reliability with predictive monitoring for our customers,” said Amos Freund, vice president of R&D at Autotalks, in the same statement.
