Infineon, Autotalks bundle technologies for V2X

Infineon and Autotalks are collaborating on the development of next-generation V2X (vehicle-to-everything communications) applications. In this effort, Infineon is providing automotive-grade HyperRAM 3.0 memory to support Autotalks’ Tekton3 and Secton3 V2X reference designs.

The Tekton3 is a fully integrated V2X system-on-chip (SoC) designed specifically for connected driving. V2X enables vehicles to exchange data with each other and their environment to improve road safety. However, simultaneous dual-radio and full V2X software implementations typically require external memory to handle modem and application requirements. HyperRAM, as storage, meets these cost, density and performance requirements for external storage.

With HyperRAM 3.0, Infineon extends the throughput of its HyperRAM family to 800 MBps over an x16 hyperbus interface. The devices are automotive-qualified and represent the ideal memory expansion to meet the computing power needs of Tekton3.

“Infineon’s HyperRAM and NOR flash memories are the ideal combination for our latest generation of V2X SoCs,” said Amos Freund, vice president R&D of Autotalks. “We are pleased to partner with Infineon, a leader in memory and automotive, to deliver our innovative V2X offering. This will enable OEMs to develop targeted V2X solutions.”

“With the global V2X market expected to grow more than 30 percent over the next five years, this collaboration with Autotalks comes at an ideal time,” said Patrick Le Bihan, senior director, Ecosystem Marketing at Infineon. “Our HyperRAM and NOR flash memories work seamlessly with Autotalks’ SoCs to provide customers with a cost-effective, high-performance and energy-efficient solution. We are excited to work with a leading V2X device provider and look forward to continued collaboration with Autotalks.”
