Move over ‘Moore’s Law’ – here is ‘Sam’s Law’!

“The Intel 4004 has 2,200 transistors and I’ve now made 1,200 on the same piece of silicon.”

Sam Zeloof is the kind of guy that will not take no for an answer. In his garage is working an tinkering his own silicon semiconductors. He started with the Z1 that only had 6 transistors, that was in 2018. In 2021 he designed his own 1200 transistor silicon, the Z2. He is joking that in a couple of years time he can do the same as Intel did in the first eight years of developments. I think it is time to replace ‘Moore’s Law’ with ‘Sam’s Law’.

Sam is doing this all from his own garage or studio. With that he is giving an excellent example on how to beat the ‘cannot do it’ mentality – More power to Sam!

Follow Sam on twitter or visit his website if you want to discover more or get some ideas on how to DIY your own silicon!
