Phlux Technology Ltd. (Sheffield, England), a manufacturer of avalanche photodiode (APD) infrared sensors, has appointed Christian Rookes as vice president of marketing, Brian Williams (left) as vice president of operations, and John Fuller (centre) as director of engineering.
Phlux, founded in 2020, also announced a move to a larger facility located within the newly renovated Pennine 5 campus in Sheffield. The premises provide space and resources to support the company’s growing team and increasing product demand.
Phlux has developed a low-noise InGaAs avalanche photodiode technology that delivers up to 12x higher sensitivity, produces less than one-tenth of the noise of traditional InGaAs APDs It also exhibits stable high-temperature performance, fast overload recovery, and 10x lower temperature drift. Allowing APD gains over 100 without producing excess noise, Noiseless InGaAs APD technology was achieved by incorporating antimony (Sb) alloys into the diodes’ epitaxial structure.
