Power and discrete semiconductor vendor Nexperia BV (Nijmegen, The Netherlands) has responded to the news that its Chinese parent Wingtech has been placed on the US exports entity list.
“Nexperia will comply with the US restrictions as these apply to its interactions with Wingtech,” the company said in a statement.
Wingtech Technology Co. Ltd. (Jiaxing, China) was added to an extended entity list on December 2 so that its access to US technology now requires a license from the US Department of Commerce.

Wingtech was founded in 2006 by a former STMicroelectronics engineer Wing Zhang and is now listed on the Shanghai stock exchange but is also partially owned by several state-owned enterprises.
Zhang is chairman and CEO of Wingtech, the controlling shareholder of Nexperia, where he is also chairman and CEO. Zhang serves the companies from offices in the Netherlands and China.
