EB xelor is intended to provide automobile manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers with a secure, stable and easily updated basis for the software infrastructure of future vehicle generations optimised for HPC environments with System-on-Chips (SoCs) from NXP and Renesas.

The software platform combines proven software from EB with open source and third-party software as well as tools and services which are decisive for HPC environments but do not necessarily differentiate vehicles from each other. With EB xelor, automobile manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers save time and resources that would be required for their own procurement and integration of elements. The software house Elektrobit – a company of the Continental Group – has extensive experience with software projects for HPC architectures in the field of automotive production. Against this background, the company sees potential savings of around 30 percent in total engineering costs when using the software platform.

EB xelor has a functional safety software stack based on Linux and Adaptive Autosar, a real-time and safety software stack based on Classic Autosar, which is provided via the EB tresos hypervisor, as well as software for HPC updates and platform status management functions. The solution also includes tools and services to automate builds and simplify integration. Car manufacturers can add their own vehicle-specific software to these stacks.
