The F45 summit is an ASTM International event dedicated to creating global performance standards for mobile robotics. Traditionally held in the United States, this marks the first such summit to be held outside the United States. The event welcomes experts in automatic-through-autonomous industrial vehicles from across the globe, who convene for the purpose of defining a comprehensive set of standards that help govern the production and performance of mobile robotics.

The event marks the eighth F45 summit, which is held semi-annually to continue defining performance standards for industrial mobile robots, as well as standardized measurement techniques to characterize system performance and to compare different systems to tasks at hand. Tapping top leaders in the field, the group also determines industry essentials such as standard terminology and testing methodology.

Bruno Adam, Mobile Robot Business Director Europe said, “We are honoured to host this summit in the new Omron Innovation Lab in France. We recognize the critical need to develop a common set of standards to move the field of mobile robotics forward, so we can deploy innovative technology in a safe and productive way. We welcome our peers in the industry and look forward to sharing our collective experience to develop a set of standards with ASTM International that serves our customers.”
