Phoenix Energy Technologies has developed an AI model that can automatically classify data from a wide range of devices across the Internet of Things (IoT)

The ClassifyAI model addresses the challenges associated with unifying IP-enabled devices across the IoT, providing accurate classification of data.#

There are common challenge of integrating various IP-enabled devices, including building controls, sensors, and meters, into a single platform. Additionally, access to relevant third-party data streams such as weather and utility billing remains limited. As a result, decision-making regarding energy consumption, occupant comfort, and asset performance is often more limited than expected for a smart building roll out.

The Phoenix EnterpriseDX system supports comprehensive data gathering through software connectors, ensuring seamless integration with legacy IP-connected devices while maintaining data privacy and security and provides insights into energy, asset and other metrics.

The technical challenges inherent in data integration, particularly in the data collection phase, led Phoenix to develop ClassifyAI. This Machine Learning tool is trained for rapid discovery and classification of data points from various sources, spanning tens of thousands of locations, in minutes, with high levels of accuracy.

By harmonizing descriptions and unifying data from disparate systems, ClassifyA™ simplifies and accelerates the integration process, reducing transition time from system connectivity to live operations. This addresses the complexities of connecting to multiple building management systems and IoT devices by leveraging Machine Learning algorithms and a proprietary dataset.

One example shows processing 50,000 data points in 30 minutes with over 99% accuracy. This helps improve decision-making in IoT systems and optimizes building performance.

“We’re excited to unveil ClassifyAI, our latest solution aimed at revolutionizing the multi-site commercial IoT landscape,” said Glen Schrank, CEO of Phoenix Energy Technologies. “Understanding the complexities our customers face when integrating diverse portfolios of IP-enabled devices is crucial. With ClassifyAI, we’re tackling these challenges head-on by streamlining data gathering and harmonization processes. This innovative tool empowers proactive decision-making, optimizes operations, and enhances building performance, marking a significant advancement in the industry’s standards.”
