Oscilloscopes will comprise 50 – 200 MHz bandwidth models, comprising the InfiniiVision 1000/2000 X-series; examples from the basic-measurements segment include Keysight’s Truevolt DMMs with graphical capabilities such as the ability to generate trend and histogram charts. This capability is extended with data acquisition and logging instruments.

The distributor will also be a source of Keysight’s test equipment accessories, including probes, clips, leads and related items.

Presenting an end-of-year review, while introducing the Keysight deal, Mouser’s Mark Burr-Lonnon, Senior VP of Global Service and EMEA, APAC Business, looked back on an outstanding year’s business. Mouser’s activity across Europe expanded by over 40%, and Burr-Lonnon sees no diminution of growth, going into 2018. He does, however, anticipate increasing scarcity of supply of certain component types, and of the distribution sector, he says, “…those with the inventory are the ones doing well.” Supply “tightness” extends across the component categories, he adds; simple passives as as likely to be quoted with long delivery times as are semiconductors. Suppliers are reluctant to use the word ‘allocation’, “… but that’s what it is.”

Looking into 2018, Burr-Lonnon sees the current pace of activity being maintained for at least the first half of the year, with a further 20-percent-plus growth coming from the European region: the company will continues its theme of taking new product to market, “We are the NPI [new-product-introduction] distributor,” and supporting design-ins with development tools such as the range of platforms sourced from Belgrade-based MikroElektronika.
