The world’s leading foundry Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Hsinchu, Taiwan) saw its September sales climb year-on-year by 24.9 percent to NT$127.58 billion (about US$4.48 billion). This was up sequentially by 3.8 percent.

September sales at near neighbour United Microelectronics Corp. were NT$14.53 billion (about US$507 million) roughly flat with the previous month but an increase of 34.2 percent on the same month a year before.

TSMC’s sales for the year to date are NT$977.7 billion (about US$34.1 billion) up 29.9 percent on the first three quarters of 2019.

UMC is also doing well with annual sales-to-date of NT$131.5 billion (about $4.59 billion), up 23.7 percent on the equivalent period in 2019.
